Hoping FOR A HOME

MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

These two bonded seniors have until Feb. 23 to find either a foster home or their forever home. Jax (left) is a distemper survivor and Pirate is missing his back legs. They are approximately 13 years old and both are healthy, affectionate and sweet. They are currently with their owner who can no longer keep them. Another rescue reached out to us for help. We are over capacity both in space and in vet bills and cannot take them. Hopefully, a kind soul will step up to foster or adopt them. Please contact Linda (403-381-9269) or Sam (403-382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue as soon as possible if you can help. Their time is running out. We are always in great need of donations to help with our neverending vet bills. No amount is too small.

Romeo is well-named, because this boy is a lover! About two years old, he didn’t get the love he deserved from his people: they left him behind when they moved. Now, he has a second chance, and he is taking it! Romeo is a long-haired black boy-cat who longs for affection. He wants to be held, to be cuddled; he wants to have company. He enjoys a good conversation, preferably while you hold him or sit beside him, and he will be satisfied with a little spot on your bed at night. But while sentiment is all well and good, what about practicality? Well, Romeo is living in a busy foster home with three dogs (plus three day-home dogs) and a trio of cats — and he is doing very well with them. The dogs are no problem for our boy, and he is integrating with the felines. He has excellent hygiene; if his litter box needs a scoop, he will tell you. Yes, Romeo is a catch; he may be a little shy at first but once he knows your lap is for him, his heart will be for you. Find out more about him by contacting PAW at 403-328-6700 or send an inquiry at

www.pawsociety.com. And re-scheduled from last Saturday, meet an adoptable sweetie, Q-bert, today, Feb. 16, from noon to 3 p.m. at the downtown Homes Alive store. Between these two cats, you may just suffer an overdose of affection.

This little guy is happy now. He was found by someone outside in -28 crying due to the cold and hunger. We have named him Cole. He is about four months old and is safe in his foster home. He has been vaccinated and dewormed. He will be neutered in a few months. Cole doesn’t mind other cats or kittens and he loves his human companions. To find out more about what we do, visit us at Centre Village Mall today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will have volunteers and a lot of cool stuff for sale to raise funds for our vet bills. There may even be some baking! Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue efforts and even moreso to those in our community who help homeless cats on their own. Please read more about Last Chance Cat Ranch at www.facebook.com/lastchancecatranch or www.thelastchancecatranch.com. Happy Family Day weekend. Perhaps you may consider adopting a cat to be a new family member!

Peppo is an energetic, athletic youngster — always on the go! He loves to play with the other kittens; wrestling, running and climbing. Peppo came to the Humane Society early last summer, and jumped happily into the Kitten Room routine. He gets along well with the other kittens, but does best with those that are his own size! Peppo is a high-energy kitten and will want a home with room to run off some of that energy! If you are interested in meeting Peppo, you can visit him at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-320-8991). Jake is around nine months old and a very large, fluffy boy. He’s in his awkward teenage hair stage so try not to judge him based on those ears! Jake just needs a toy and he is instantly entertained. We passed him the toy and he ran around creating his own joy. He’s hilarious to watch. He is fantastic on a leash and walks along nicely with you. He’s already huge and is just going to get bigger, so obedience training with this fellow is highly recommended. He gets along great with strangers, kids and larger dogs but he is not good with little dogs and cats. Jake loves his belly rubbed and is quite calm in the house. He’s the type of dog that is high energy for a short period of time and then generally pretty mellow. Visit www.windycityrescue.com or call 403-3593139 for more information.
