This weekend, Lethbridge and area residents will be able to recycle their old electronics at three locations during the sixth annual Electronics Recycle and Donation event, today to Sunday.

People will be able to take a variety of electronics to the Save-On Foods North and West locations, along with Visions Electronics on Mayor Magrath Drive south, where they will be reused, repurposed and kept out of landfills.

All reusable items collected will be refurbished and computers will be put back into use in the community. They wipe clean newer devices and install the latest operating system, so they are ready for use immediately.

Items accepted for the event include Christmas and ornamental light sets without the bulbs, TVs, stereos, routers, electrical wires and detached cords, game systems, cameras, printers, cellphones, microwaves, monitors, computers, parts and accessories.

Single-use batteries and nonelectronic items such as appliances, light fixtures, air conditioners and irons cannot be accepted.

At both Save-On Foods locations, drop-off bins for donations and recycled items will be located on the left side of the store, by the seasonal department. At Visions, the bins will be located on the right side of the parking entrance. If you require a pickup for recycling or repurposing call 403-929-5636 to schedule a time, with rates starting at $19.99.
