An internationally touring comedian from Edmonton will be returning to Lethbridge Saturday at Good Times comedy club at 7 p.m.

Ben Proulx has entertained audiences across North America, with his unique storytelling ability and honest perspective, driven by his experience as a Jewish amputee growing up in Alberta. His approach has led to stand-out performances at international events such as the Las Vegas World Series of Comedy, the Okanagan Comedy Festival and the Edmonton Comedy Festival.

“I’m a one-legged Jew from Alberta, I’m pretty sure comedy was my only career option,” says Proulx. “But I feel lucky to do what I do. I think anything can be made funny, and I think laughing at potentially negative things takes power away from them. So, yeah, I can laugh about the fact that I have one leg, it’s part of who I am and I’ve had fun with it.”

Proulx combines an honest and raw delivery in his performances, pushing the line and poking jokes at themes typically strayed away from. Even at an early age, Proulx has been able to take his own situations and worldly events and take a shot at them for a good laugh.

Good Times comedy Club is located at 314 7 St. S. Tickets are available online through Eventbright, on the Facebook event page.
