Cobras boys strike at home

The Claresholm Willow Creek Cobras junior varsity boys basketball team got past the Picture Butte Sugar Kings in Deep South Basketball Conference play Wednesday night.

Cobra Logan Read scored 20 points as Willow Creek earned a 68-58 win over the Sugar Kings in Claresholm.

Dhillon Schmirler added 13 points for the Cobras and Xander Coates hit for 10.

For the Sugar Kings, Jakie Enns led the way with 22 points. Ryan Holm and Timothy Enns added 14 and 10 points, respectively.

In the girls game, the Sugar Queens posted a 71-28 win over Willow Creek.

Picture Butte was led by Laryette Kellett’s 20-point night, while Kirsten Fremstad chipped in with 14 points and Abigail Leusink scored 12.

Mya Lobreau scored 14 points for the Cobras.
