Laird highlights McNally fundraiser

COUNTRY MUSIC ARTIST TO PERFORM SHOW SATURDAY

-

An effective heating system is vital at this time of year. A new system was recently installed in the former McNally School.

Now a fundraising concert, featuring awardwinning country music performer Ryan Laird, will be held Saturday to help the McNally Community Association pay for that improvement.

Laird has been described as “the Keith Urban of Canadian country music,” with his live show offering a big “Ed Sheeran” flair as he records and layers live musical loops for his audiences as he performs.

Fans cite his impressive vocal range and virtuoso guitar chops, as well as a captivating stage presence. His unique blend of original and classic songs, storytelling and musicianship makes for a truly mesmerizing experience, they say.

A two-time Canadian Country Music Award winner, Laird is best known for his single “I’m Your Man” — followed by Top-40 singles “Girl Crazy,”

“She Was The One” and “Where Do I Go.”

Laird has performed as a headliner as well as the main opener on Alan Jackson’s eastern tour dates, on Dierks Bentley’s tour dates in Alberta, and on George Canyon’s “Small Town Tour” across the Prairies. Laird has also opened for Terri Clark, Emerson Drive and Sawyer Brown on a number of tour dates.

Tickets ($20) for the allage event at the McNally Community Centre will be sold at the door, with the music starting at 7:30 p.m. Soft drinks, wine and beer will be available.
