Comets girls win again


The Raymond Comets girls basketball team remains undefeated in Southern Alberta High School Basketball League play.

The Comets beat the Magrath Pandas 94-41 in league play Friday night in Raymond to improve to 5-0 and move into a tie for first place with the LCI Clippers.

With the loss the Pandas are 4-1 and in third place.

Five Comets hit double digits in Friday’s home win as Saige Gibb led the way with 17 points and Taylor Ralph added 15.

Collier scored 11 points each and Abby Graves posted 10.

Emily Hall led Magrath with nine points and Macie Wocknitz had eight.

The Pandas won the junior varsity game 79-67 as Katie Blackmore had 17 points and Abi Payne, Lily Clifton and Odgen Hattie each scored 15.

Ivory Romeril scored 18 points for Raymond and Mataya Francis and Taya Hamon had 17 and 12, respective­ly.

The Pandas are back home tonight when they welcome the Clippers to town at 8 p.m. The junior varsity game is at 6 p.m.
