Lightning lose on the road


The Lethbridge Lightning lost on the road, but still remain atop the Ranchland Hockey League.

The Lightning were doubled 4-2 by the Nanton Palominos Saturday night in Nanton to sit at 9-2-0-1, three points up on the 8-1-0-0 Palominos.

Shay Wirll and James Price scored for Lethbridge in the loss. Wirll added an assist for a two-point night and Alex Sirard stopped 44 of 48 shots.

The Lightning host the Siksika Buffaloes at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Nicholas Sheran Arena.

The team is holding a volunteer informatio­n meeting Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Nicholas Sheran Arena for those interested in helping out at the Senior "AA" provincial tournament the last week of March.
