- LETHBRIDGE HERALD

This morning the University of Lethbridge will join universities across the nation in remembering all who lost their lives one week ago in Iran.

Students, faculty and staff will observe a moment of silence at 11 a.m. in the Markin Hall atrium.

Many of those who perished were members of Canada’s university communities, including the University of Alberta. Officials point out their loss has impacted families, friends and colleagues not just in Alberta but across the country.

All 176 passengers and crew, 57 of them Canadians, were killed after the jet was shot down shortly after takeoff from Tehran on Jan. 8.

The university invites members of the broader community to participate by joining this morning’s event or by marking the moment however they wish.
