LCI sweeps games from Chinook

LCI basketball teams swept four games from Chinook in high school basketball play on Wednesday.

In Southern Alberta 4A Boys Basketball League action, LCI Rams defeated the Chinook Coyotes 89-55 as Tanner French scored 17 points and Carter Johnson added 15. Garrett Procee and Marshall Scott scored 11 and 10 respective­ly.

In junior varsity play, LCI downed Chinook 83-42 as Crew Hirsche dropped in 22 points and Jack Edwards added 17. William Ash was next with 14 points and Ty Nielsen had 12.

Caden Lancaster led Chinook with 17 points.

The LCI Clippers rolled to a 90-26 victory over the Chinook Coyotes in Southern Alberta Girls Basketball League play.

Hadley Selk led the Clippers with 18 points while Presley Heggie and Bailey Kutsch added 13 and 11 points respective­ly. Kya Bester and Kennedy Tanner chipped in with 10 points apiece.

Ainsley deBoer replied with eight points for the Coyotes.

In JV action, LCI defeated Chinook 81-33 as Morgan Hill hit for 14 points and Brooklyn Zemp and Abbey Pallett added 11 and 10 points respective­ly.

Brooke Rollingson led Chinook with eight points.

In other Southern Alberta 4A Boys play, Winston Churchill Bulldogs outlasted the Catholic Central Cougars 78-72 as Kevin Davies scored 25 points, followed by Tyreese Russell with 14, Eric Delauw with 13 and Polo Los Banes with 11.

Josh Crawford replied with a game-high 32 points in a losing cause while Tate Stroud added 14.

Churchill edged CCH 62-61 in the JV contest as Robbie Wist scored 18 points and Ryker Morrell added 16. Philippe Martin chipped in with 10.

Sebastian Plarisan led CCH with 17 points and Derek Trapp and Dave Dahoe added 10 apiece.
