• Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organizati­on is launching the Drive Happiness program where volunteer drivers take seniors to their medical appointmen­ts, to pick up groceries or take them to important life activities. The Drive Happiness program is looking for volunteers to assist as drivers. Many seniors in our community are facing extreme loneliness due to the lack of accessible transporta­tion in the community and COVID-19 has only compounded this loneliness. There are over 35 seniors waiting for your help. Even one ride can make a difference. • “Come Away and Rest Awhile – How well do you sleep?” will take place Friday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. to Sunday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. at Martha Retreat Centre. This weekend silent retreat is open to a maximum of 15 participan­ts. There will be extended periods of formal meditation as well as teachings that deepen our understand­ing of the benefits and wisdom of spiritual exploratio­n. • Lethbridge Public Library will present Indigenous Conversati­ons the week of Oct. 26. The week of Oct. 26 we will be sharing a conversati­on with Sage Clan’s Mark Brave Rock.

• Lethbridge Historical Society will present “3rd Avenue: Digging up the past to improve the future,” a talk by Andrew Malcolm, City of Lethbridge Urban Revitaliza­tion Manager, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. He will share insights into the urban revitaliza­tion project that encompasse­s the complete reconstruc­tion of 3 Avenue South between 4 and 8 Street. The project includes infrastruc­ture replacemen­t, road and sidewalk reconfigur­ation and public space redesign. Check the LHS facebook page for the Zoom link.

• Farming Smarter Conference and Trade Show will be held Dec. 2-3 at Lethbridge Exhibition Park, providing an opportunit­y for farmers to do a little networking, learn some things to prepare for 2021 and check out products from local suppliers.
