Men facing drug charges
Lethbridge Police have charged a man with drugrelated offences and seized more than $5,000 in drugs following a surveillance operation on Tuesday.
Members of the Crime Suppression Team observed the occupants of a vehicle engaged in activities consistent with illegal drug transactions, police said in a news release. When they arrested a subject at a northside bar, they found him in possession of more than seven grams of methamphetamine, more than 13 grams of fentanyl and eight fentanyl patches with a total value of more than $5,000. They also seized almost $2,800 in cash.
Mark Anthony Brown of Lethbridge, 50, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000. He was also in breach of his previous release order and had outstanding warrants which were cleared.
Meanwhile, a Fort Macleod man is facing charges after Lethbridge Police performed a traffic stop in the 500 block of 13 Street North on Tuesday.
A subject nearby was known to have curfew conditions and was arrested for breach of a release order. A subsequent search revealed he was in possession of three bulk portions of fentanyl, 20 prepackaged .4gram portions of fentanyl, more than seven grams of methamphetamine and 13 hydro morphine pills.
Steven Quebec, 44, of Fort Macleod, was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled substance and five charges of breach of release. He was remanded in custody until his next court date today.
