MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

This public service feature runs each Saturday in the Lethbridge Herald.

Rolo would like to say thank you to everyone who donated to our monthly Bottle Drive today. All revenue goes to paying down our exhorbitant vet bills. Your support is greatly appreciated. The Last Chance Cat Ranch has been hit hard with ongoing requests to take in homeless and surrendered cats. Our major fundraising events have all been cancelled and our Casino moved to the Spring of 2022 provided all is well then. Our community of donors and supporters allows us to continue. We have our 2nd Rafflebox 50/50 on our Facebook page. Our last one saw $10 000 to the lucky winner. This one could be you, on March 19th. Please visit us at www.facebook.com/lastchancecatranch and www.thelastchancecatranch.com. Have a good weekend and keep safe!

Xanadu! From Kubla Khan’s stately pleasure-dome to Citizen Kane’s surreal palace, the name Xanadu has conjured up images of the fantastic, the fabulous, the exotic. And now – a kitten? Yes! Xanadu is a wondrous six month old boycat looking for a loving home. Pale orange with swirls of deeper ginger in his fur, Xanadu is ready already! Brought into a strange foster-home, he had no qualms about meeting the people there. Is he friendly? Rubbing up against a human and settling down against him must be in his genes. Is he happy? His purring is nearly constant, and watch how his little feet are always kneading. Is he active? Sometimes he can’t sit still for wanting to be on the move. Is he playful? He loves knocking a ball about, grappling with a fuzzy mouse or chasing the end of a string-toy. Is he clean? He didn’t have to be told what a litter-box is for. Call Lethbridge PAW Society at 403-328-6700 or visit pawsociety.com to learn more about him. Let Xanadu turn your home into his pleasure-dome.

Jimmy came in during the spring of 2018 as a stray. He is still quite nervous of new people but given time will settle in. Since he is nervous Jimmy would prefer a home without young children.

If you are interested in meeting Jimmy, you can see him at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 - 16 Avenue N. or call 403-320-8991). To view other Haven pets, go to www.lethbridgehumanesociety.com and click on the Available Pets link. Also check out the Lethbridge and District Humane Society on Facebook.

Marybeth is four years old. She came to Purrfect Endings Rescue as a tiny, feral kitten. She is very shy and will need a special person who is patient and willing to take things slowly. Marybeth would do best with the company of another feline. For more information about Marybeth call Linda (403 381-9269) or Sam (403 382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue. We are also on Facebook. Our blind kitty, Stella Luna, is in the running for America's Favorite Pet. The winner will receive $5000 and a feature in Catster Magazine. Voting starts February 2nd and the link to vote daily for Stella is https://americasfavpet.com/2021/stella-2185 Please spread the word and help Stella become America's Favourite Pet. The $5000 prize money would almost pay off our vet bills. The link is also on our Facebook page.
