MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

This public service feature runs each Saturday in the Lethbridge Herald.

This is Katara! She came to The Last Chance Cat Ranch with her mom Misa and siblings. They were all very scared of people but have slowly been learning that the volunteers at the Ranch are safe and friendly.

Katara LOVES other cats and is often found curled up with one of her siblings or one of her new friends. If she’s not cuddled up then she likes to spend her free time playing with toys and watching cat TV. She is a big fan of treats and wet food and will eagerly wait while you get them for her!

She has come a long way with socialization but still has a ways to go. She accepts pets now but is still a little unsure about it all. She has a lot of potential to become a cuddly girl. Katara would benefit from having an owner who has experience with shy cats and has lots of love and patience. She’s a special girl who will bring so much light and joy to her adoptive home.

If Katara sounds like the girl for you then make sure to fill out an application on our website www.thelastchancecatranch.com.

Meet Ren! If you thought it wasn’t possible for things to get any cuter around here you would be incorrect! Meet handsome little Ren, a 3 month old chihuahua mix. Ren is such a sweet little guy. He is very shy when you first meet him and seems to be more comfortable with women than men. He also loves the company of little people and will gladly be their shadow if they are gentle. He is an all-star cuddler but will hog the blankets. Ren has begun to show his playful side with both the other dogs and toys around the house. He would do well in a house with or without other dogs. He loves to play with and chew on stuffies. He has started to sleep through the night in his kennel without a peep! He may take a while to warm up to his new humans, but it will be worth it when he does! To apply to adopt Ren please visit our website and follow the adoption process www.windycitycaninerescue.com

Charlie is a big boy, just over three years old, but sometimes you’d think he is just a big baby. This all-white cat with the remarkably colourful eyes needs his people. He wants to be touching, kneading and leaning against his humans whenever he can. And being picked up? This handsome fellow enjoys being held. You might say he’s a little insecure, but when in a loving home, with a person who will cuddle and play with him, his world is full. He’s a little anxious around new cats – never hostile, just a bit nervous – even with kittens. But that changes with time, and Charlie will adapt to a different environment. As his foster-guardian says, Charlie is “versatile”. To find out more about this most intriguing of cats, contact PAW at 403-3286700 or go online at pawsociety.com. Charlie is a big boy, looking for a little love.

Hello there, we’re Pellet & Paisley! We were rescued in Nobleford. We are both perky and energetic and love attention and to be petted. Like most rabbits, we are not fans of being picked up or held. We LOVE getting our breakfast pellets and do binkies as soon as we hear them being prepared for us! We also love our bunny salads and treats! We do zoomies (and sometimes thumps!) when our caregiver enters our space. Paisley (gray) will get jealous if Pellet (pellet) is getting all the attention and nudge you for some of her own! At this point, we are not fond of dogs or cats. If you would like to apply to adopt these lovely ladies, head over to Archie’s Angels Rabbit Rescue’s website aarr.ca.
