• Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs every Thursday from noon - 1 p.m. at the LSCO (Lethbridge Senior Citizen Organizati­on) at 500 11 St. S. There is no cost to attend, but donations are gratefully accepted. This week’s presenter is Trevor Harrison, professor emeritus of sociology at the University of Lethbridge, who will be speaking on “After Notley, What is next for Alberta’s NDP?” Visit SACPA.ca for schedule & archives.

• Parkbridge Estates country music jams on Thursday evenings from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. Address is 2928 - 29 Street South (in behind Leon’s). $3 admission. Come sing, perform, dance or just listen. A backup band is provided if needed/wanted. Hope to see everyone there!

Note there is no jam on the last Thursday of each month.

• Blankets for Canada: Coaldale - Picture Butte meets every Thursdays from 10-2 p.m. at 2226 23rd Ave. Coaldale. Items may be dropped off in our outside bin or at the Picture Butte drop off at 102 - 4 Street South or Nobleford drop off at 909 Centennial Ave. (blue bin on front deck). • Blankets for Canada: Lethbridge meets every Thursday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 at Southminst­er United Church. We welcome volunteers to knit, crochet or sew blankets to join us.

Let’s keep Lethbridge warm this winter. We also welcome donations of yarn or material. Drop off at Michaels or Southminst­er.

• Gamblers Anonymous - Do you, or someone you know, have a gambling problem which is causing havoc in your life and relationsh­ips? If so, you’re welcome to attend weekly meetings held Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Thursdays at 6 p.m. at 408 13 St. N. (front entrance). For more informatio­n call 403-331-0822.

• Adult Children of Alcoholics and/or Dysfunctio­nal Families,

a support group for people who grew up with the rules Don’t Talk, Don’t Trust, Don’t Feel, meet Thursdays, 8 p.m., 408 13 St. N. Details: Ann, 403-382-9925, or Shannon, 403-315-3482.

• Shaughness­y Community Associatio­n Coffee Time and Secondhand Treasures Rooms at the Shaughness­y Community Hall 133-3Rd Street. Open on Tuesdays and Thursday 9 AM-2 PM.

• Barons United Church Thrift Shop located at 113 Main Street, Barons. Open Thursdays 12:304:30 & Saturdays 10:00-2:00. • Coaldale United Church Thrift Shop (2022 – 18 St., Coaldale) is open Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Cash only.

• Trinity Thrift Store at 528 Maple Cres. Picture Butte runs every Thursday 1-4 and Saturday 10:30-2:30. Donations are gratefully accepted and volunteers are welcome. 403-915-1576 for info

• Lethbridge Sport Council Indoor Roving Gyms Tuesdays 5:30- 6:30 PM @ Immanuel Lutheran Church on the westside and Thursdays 10:00 - 11:00 AM @ Servus Sports Centre. There is no cost to participat­e but please note that pre-registrati­on is required to attend. See lethbridge­sportcounc­il.ca/programs/roving-gyms .

• Weekly Jitney Cribbage at the Royal Canadian Legion Lethbridge Branch 4, every Thursday at 6:30pm. Public welcome - please come and meet new friends!

• Barons UC Thrift Shop at 113 Main St. Open Saturdays 10 - 2 & Thursdays 12:30 - 4:30. Clean, Gently used donations are greatly appreciate­d & can be dropped off during open hours.

• Tom Price Band will be playing at Holiday Bowl on Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

• Women and Girls Only swim program hosted by Lethbridge Sport Council, in collaborat­ion with Recreation Excellence and Lethbridge Family Services - Immigrant Services, provide a safe and designated space for Women and Girls who are unable to participat­e in traditiona­l or mixedgende­r activities because of culture, religion, beliefs, trauma, insecuriti­es, etc. The program takes place on the last Friday of each month from 3 - 4:30 p.m. at Stan Siwik Family Swimming Pool. • Ukrainian War Memorial Day commemorat­ive events will begin at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church 643 13 Street North at 10 a.m. on Feb 24 with a memorial service for all fallen military and civilians. Then at 5 p.m. the Evening of Remembranc­e will be held at the Multicultu­ral Center at 421 6 Ave. South. Tickets are available at the Multicultu­ral Center. Entrance is free. (Please note that some documentar­y materials have sensitive content.)
