BIPOC - VARIOUS OPPORTUNITIES (2)
As an Outreach / Communications Assistant you will act as a liaison for potential members, bridge outreach connections with individuals wanting information on the organization, help keep track of calendars (editorial, press conferences, events, etc.) and maintain them to assist other contributors, volunteer team members, and management. You will report to the volunteer lead, and BIPOC relationship manager, and assist in organizing outreach events, working the internal programs and communication teams for the coordination of sales, marketing, and planning, promote the services of the organization and receive donations. As an Administrative Assistant you will assist with administrative duties and help to ensure that records, meetings, and processes are recorded and archived appropriately, assists HQ and the Volunteer Program Lead with correspondence, record keeping, and appointment setting. Reporting to the Volunteer Program Lead, the Administrative Assistant will conduct general tasks such as: assisting to handle correspondence as assigned by HQ and the Volunteer Program Lead and with keeping records, such as transition documents, passwords, meeting minutes and other organizational information.
TETRA SOCIETY OF NORTH AMERICA VARIOUS OPPORTUNITIES
Do you like innovating and helping those around you? Then the Tetra Society is the perfect place for you to volunteer! Currently, they have two opportunities available as an Outreach Volunteer and a Technical Volunteer. The outreach volunteer oversees promoting Tetra Society in the community by participating in volunteer fair/events in Lethbridge, reaching out to organizations that have the potential to work with Tetra, network around the community and help organize fundraisers for the organization. Technical volunteers are people that like working with their hands, are creative, or have any background knowledge of art, design, carpentry, electrical engineering, welding, or similar. Right now, they are looking specifically for a volunteer with welding abilities to complete adaptations to a stroller.
CANADIAN BLOOD SERVICES PLASMA DONOR CENTRE
Canadian Blood Services is looking for volunteers to assist at the Plasma Donor Centre. Volunteers will greet donors with a smile, make conversation, and accompany them throughout their donation process. Volunteers help donors feel welcome and comfortable. Because the care and attention volunteers give, it is very often a key reason why donors return. The Centre is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. An average commitment of up to 12 hours per month would be ideal.
EXTENDICARE FAIRMONT PARK VARIOUS OPPORTUNITIES (3)
Friday Music Volunteers will assist residents to and from the community room and stay with residents from dementia households. Crib Volunteers will help residents to and from dining rooms, possibly deal cards, move pegs, and play crib with and for residents. Event Volunteers will assist with scheduled recreation programs, events, and one-to-one visits, as well as assist with setting up (food prep, table set up) and assisting residents to and from the program. Volunteers must physically be able to push wheelchairs or walk beside independent walkers.
LTRA is looking for Fundraising and
Event Volunteers, Horse Handler, and Side Walker. As a Fundraising and Event Volunteer you will assist with fundraising activities. The specific positions under fundraising and events are 50/50 raffle ticket sellers, Bingo volunteers, and Event volunteers for Ride for Dreams, Ladies Night, and others. As a Horse Handler you will bring horses in from paddocks, grooming, and leading the horses during lessons. As a Side Walker you will provide physical, emotional and mental support to those with physical and mental impairments.
OPOKAA’SIN EARLY INTERVENTION SOCIETY - VARIOUS OPPORTUNITIES (2)
Activity Assistant you will help with afterschool programs. As a Kitchen Assistant you will assist with kitchen preparation and lunch for the daycare. For both of these positions it is required to be 18 years or older and have a Child Intervention Check. STREETS ALIVE - VARIOUS OPPORTUNITIES (2)
The Volunteer Coordinator will work with the director and administration to manage the maintenance and engagement of a sufficient base of volunteers to assist Streets Alive in the delivery of a broad spectrum of client services as well as fundraising. They will promote and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization by surveying staff regularly to assess the need for volunteer assistance. They will maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation. Streets Alive is also looking for an experienced Hairdresser and Barber with willingness to work with a street population. The CARE CUTS program has all the tools and supplies for volunteers, you would not need to provide anything other than yourself. Police checks are a bonus, but not necessary. Volunteer shifts are based on volunteer availability and area in which they would like to volunteer. Volunteers will always be accompanied by a staff member when working directly with the street population.
