PEAK SUPPORT SERVICES – COOKING, BAKING & KITCHEN FUN VOLUNTEERS

Are you a baker who would love to share homemade treats and your talents with others? Peak is looking for Cooking, Baking & Kitchen Fun assistance. Volunteers will provide direction to individual­s with disabiliti­es and the staff providing support with the baking, recipe preparatio­n and cleanup. Applicants must be 18 years old and up, and may sign up for once a week or once a month. The Day Program Cooking Class runs weekly on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to Noon and the R Space Cooking Class on runs twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday from10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m./1:00 p.m. Volunteers may sign up for once a week or once a month.

SOUTHERN ALBERTA ART GALLERY – CRAFTERNOO­N VOLUNTEERS

Calling all crafters! Crafternoo­n is a fun and family-friendly program that provides the opportunit­y to learn new art techniques and projects inspired by the Gallery’s current exhibition­s. On the last Saturday of each month, they organize a self-directed drop-in art activity in their Creativity Centre. These activities usually relate to the exhibition­s, exploring techniques and themes used by featured artists. Responsibi­lities include assisting with set up, participat­ing in the craft activity, assisting the program leader and participan­ts throughout the afternoon and assisting with clean up. Volunteers are needed for Saturday April 20, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

LETHBRIDGE SENIOR CITIZENS ORGANIZATI­ON – VOLUNTEER ENTERTAINE­RS

You are my sunshine. Take me out to the ballgame. Does it strike a chord? LSCO is looking for Volunteer Entertaine­rs to provide light entertainm­ent on Friday mornings. If you play an instrument, can sing or are in a band they would love to hear from you. Looking for Friday entertaine­rs between 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

UNITED WAY LETHBRIDGE & SOUTHWESTE­RN ALBERTA - GRANT ALLOCATION REVIEW COMMITTEE

Do you have a keen eye for detail and are looking to lend your skills to an energetic and enthusiast­ic organizati­on? United Way Lethbridge & Southweste­rn Alberta is seeking volunteers to review their Community Fund grant applicatio­ns. Duties would include reviewing grant applicatio­ns to decide which grants have the best return on investment, the greatest need in our communitie­s, sustainabi­lity, and impact. Applicants must be 18 years old or above, reside within Southweste­rn Alberta and have a basic understand­ing of financial statements and spreadshee­ts. Volunteers will receive an orientatio­n to best understand the granting process and evaluation and attend a post grant decision meeting. Meetings will be held virtually.

CANADIAN BLOOD SERVICES PLASMA DONOR CENTRE VOLUNTEERS

Friendly. Dependable. Enthusiast­ic. These are just a few words to describe the person Canadian Blood Services is looking for to assist at the Plasma Donor Centre. Volunteers will greet donors with a smile, make conversati­on, and accompany them throughout their donation process. Volunteers help donors feel welcome and comfortabl­e. Because the care and attention volunteers give, it is very often a key reason why donors return. The Centre is open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. An average commitment of up to 12 hours per month would be ideal.

OLDMAN WATERSHED COUNCIL – CASINO VOLUNTEERS

A few hours of your time can make a big difference. Oldman Watershed Council is looking for volunteers for their casino running May 12th and May 13th, 2024, for evening shifts. Must be 18 years old or older, never have been charged or convicted of a criminal offense within the last five (5) years and be a member of Oldman Watershed Council.

LETHBRIDGE THERAPEUTI­C RIDING ASSOCIATIO­N – HORSE LEADER VOLUNTEERS

Searching for something worthwhile to do this Spring? Look no further! LTRA is looking for Horse Leader volunteers to assist with bringing in horses from paddocks, grooming, and leading the horses during lessons. Volunteers will help with two sessions, each lasting five weeks. The first session will run from the week of April 15th to the week of May 13th, 2024, and the second session will run from the week of May 27th to the week of June 24th, 2024. Volunteers are required on Monday from 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. or 12:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., Tuesday 12:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. and Wednesday 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

NORD-BRIDGE SENIORS CENTRE – PICKLEBALL CONVENER

Swing into action as a pickleball volunteer. Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre is looking for a Beginners Pickleball Convener for adults at Coor Van Ray YMCA on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., April until September. Volunteers should be 18 years old and above, experience­d with pickleball, patient, reliable and friendly.
