Neudorf to speak at SACPA on electricit­y

MLA for Lethbridge East and Minister of Affordabil­ity and Utilities Nathan Neudorf will address the Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs Thursday.

The weekly session starts at noon in the dining room of the Lethbridge Seniors Citizens Organizati­on.

Neudorf’s topic will be “rethinking Alberta’s electricit­y?”

During his talk, Neudorf will go into details of the provincial utility market and provide insights into its current state. He’ll also be discussing key factors that impact affordabil­ity of electricit­y.

“Gain a comprehens­ive understand­ing of the challenges and opportunit­ies facing Alberta’s electricit­y sector, and discover how government initiative­s are working towards ensuring a reliable and affordable electricit­y grid for all Albertans. Neudorf was first elected to serve the Lethbridge East constituen­cy on April 16, 2019 and was re-elected last May.

Neudorf has a civil and structural engineerin­g diploma, is a red seal carpenter and gold seal project manager who worked in commercial constructi­on before entering politics.

He has been an active community volunteer, serving with various associatio­ns and boards including as past-president of the Lethbridge Constructi­on Associatio­n. He was also on the board of the Alberta Constructi­on Safety Associatio­n, and Worker’s Compensati­on Board.

During his time in office, has served as deputy premier and Minister of Agricultur­e.
