YMCA gearing up for fundraisers

-

The YMCA of Lethbridge is once again inviting the public to work up a sweat for a good cause.

Two causes, actually.

The annual Cycle for (Y)our Community fundraiser will this year not only raise money for the organization’s Shape (Y)our Future Campaign, but for ACE Volleyball to help send its U14 girls team to Nationals in May.

In a unique twist, this year’s Cycle for [Y]our Community is about breaking a sweat and breaking barriers. Teaming up with ACE Volleyball, the dual fundraiser promises a day filled with fun, fitness, and philanthropy.

The lobby of the Cor Van Raay YMCA will be converted into a cycling fundraiser class with exciting instructor-led sessions set to pulsating beats. Community members of all ages can come together to support the cause.

There will be cyclists pedalling with purpose, cheered on by enthusiastic supporters, all while surrounded by the buzz of camaraderie and goodwill. It’s an event that embodies the spirit of unity and empowerment, making it a must-attend for anyone passionate about making a difference in the community.

“Our lobby will be pulsating with energy as participants pedal their way towards a brighter future for our community,” Pam Haapa-aho, YMCA manager of philanthropy, says in a news release.

“This event is not just about raising funds; it’s about rallying together as a community to ensure that kids, youth, adults, and seniors get access to all YMCA community programs.”

Money raised through Cycle for [Y] our Community will be split evenly between the YMCA’s Shape [Y]our Future Campaign and ACE Volleyball’s U14 Girls team. Every pedal stroke will contribute to advancing these vital causes, empowering individuals, and fostering community resilience.

The YMCA’s annual fundraising campaign is focused on raising muchneeded resources that help kids, youth, adults, and seniors get access to all YMCA community programs.

Cycle for (Y)our Community will run from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. next Friday. People can join the YMCA in turning pedals into progress and making a meaningful impact in our community.
