ROASTS AND TOASTS

-

ROAST: To Danielle Smith. Time for her to go.

TOAST: To Jackson County for voting down subsidizing stadiums even though their team just won the Super Bowl. Rich team owners have been getting away with funding their own enterprise with public money for too long.

ROAST: To all who criticize the UCP. It is high time you did more to educate yourselves of the facts. The NDP put us in debt and gave support to union members not the average citizen. Alberta is finally getting stronger and more people from other provinces are choosing to live here.

ROAST: It is extremely sad that people are so easily brainwashed. The UCP did not hinder trans youth, they actually are ensuring adequate medical support will be available for them. More people need to educate themselves on the matter.

TOAST: To Theresa Teerling’s letter to the editor on Saturday, March 30. Sin is sin, and carnal reasoning will never replace biblical truth. So sad to see so-called Christian ministers distorting clear Bible teaching.

TOAST: I took a birthday parcel to the post office at 10 a.m. and sent it “expedited small parcel” to Calgary. Six hours later, at 4 p.m., the phone rang - the parcel had arrived! Three cheers for the post office folks!

ROAST: To climate change deniers. Every country in the world puts CO2 into the atmosphere. We are all adding straws to the camel’s back, so stop pointing fingers!

ROAST: To all citizens. We have lived in an amazing place at an amazing time, but things are going to change, even if the government doesn’t want to admit it. Politicians will say anything to get elected but they are no smarter than the average citizen. You have to do your own thinking.

ROAST: Why is our tax dollar going to fund paving roads in India? Trudeau pledges $1 billion to India and yet our infrastructure suffers. Trudeau is virtue signaling for votes.

TOAST: To the Lethbridge Lightning for sweeping Fort Macleod to capture the 202324 Ranchland Hockey League’s Championship trophy. This marks the first time in the RHL’s 50 year history that a Lethbridge team has won the League’s top award.

Lightning players also swept the playoff awards with Alex Sirard named top goalie, Garrett Johnston top defenceman and Jason Creighton the series MVP.

ROAST: To TV news. One minute everyone is cheering that a fraction of Canadian kids are going to get some meals in school because they are hungry From the federal government. Five minutes later, you tell me about how much money the same people gave to another country for ammunition and bombs that kill children. Pick one or the other. Both in the same 20 minutes is in real bad taste.

ROAST: To Justin Trudeau. It’s good to see you’re feeding some hungry kids in school which should never happen in Canada. But I think you should sit back and think really hard about why they would be hungry in the first place.

ROAST: To those who claim there are climate change deniers.
