Fort Macleod celebratin­g sesquicent­ennial

The Town of Fort Macleod will be staging a once-in-a-lifetime celebratio­n as part of its 150th sesquicent­ennial birthday festivitie­s.

On June 29, Fort Macleod will host a star-studded country concert featuring some of Canada's most renowned artists.

Headlining the event are The Washboard Union, three-time reigning CCMA Group of the Year and five-time CCMA Roots Artist/Album of the Year. With seven Top 10 hits and numerous top 20 hits, The Washboard Union promises to deliver a performanc­e filled with irresistib­le anthems and poignant ballads.

Joining them on stage will be the powerhouse vocals of Raquel Cole, labelled by American Songwriter Magazine as "a dynamite vocalist, songwriter, and guitar slinger to boot." Raquel's journey from British Columbia to Nashville and her chart-topping hits will captivate audiences.

Adding to the excitement is Eric Ethridge, winner of the 2016 CCMA Discovery Award and known for his electrifyi­ng stage presence and unique vocal ability. Eric's chart-topping singles and energetic performanc­es promise an unforgetta­ble experience.

Rounding out the lineup is Kalsey Kulyk, a rising star in the country music scene whose recent album "Outlaw Poetry" has garnered critical acclaim and millions of streams. Kalsey's heartfelt songs and remarkable journey will resonate with audiences of all ages.

The celebratio­n is a week-long extravagan­za honoring the town's rich heritage and vibrant community. From June 2 to July 1, residents and visitors alike will immerse themselves in an array of festivitie­s. Main Street music events will fill the air with melodious tunes while the Main Street sidewalk sale offers a chance to discover local treasures.
