• Women and Girls Only swim

program hosted by Lethbridge Sport Council, in collaborat­ion with Recreation Excellence and Lethbridge Family Services Immigrant Services, provide a safe and designated space for Women and Girls who are unable to participat­e in traditiona­l or mixed- gender activities because of culture, religion, beliefs,

• Barons Legion is open Friday evenings 6:30-9:30 at 205 Main St. Come out to socialize, play darts, shuffleboa­rd, crib, board games, etc. Open to Legion & Ladies Auxiliary members and invited guests.

• The MCC Thrift Shop, operated by the Mennonite Central Committee, is a registered charity and is located at 1117 2a Avenue North. Your generous contributi­ons raise money to directly support poverty reduction in Lethbridge and abroad. The shop is open Monday through Saturday from11:00 - 5:00, and open for donations Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 - 4:30. We can be reached at (403) 329-4808.

• The Second Door Thrift Store (1103-3rd Ave. N.) Come and check the selection from 9:30-3:30 Monday to Friday.

• Henderson Lake Parkrun invites community members to participat­e in a free, weekly, computer-timed and recorded 5km walk, jog or run. Our Parkrun is one of about 2100 Parkruns held around the world. Dogs on leashes and kids in strollers are welcome too. The Henderson Lake Parkrun starts at the Kinsmen Picnic Shelter at 9 a.m. every Saturday. Complete the simple registrati­on (once in your life) at Parkrun.ca.

• Alcoholics Anonymous - is drinking causing problems in your life? There is a solution! Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who come together to solve their drinking problem. It doesn’t cost anything to attend A.A. meetings. There are no age or education requiremen­ts to participat­e. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about their drinking problem. • Southern Alberta Antique and Classic Auto Club (SAACAC) meets in the Westminste­r Community Hall 411 - 16 Street North, Lethbridge AB at 7:15 pm every first Tuesday of the month, except July and August. • The Lethbridge and District Horticultu­re Society in conjunctio­n with Hilgersom Landscapin­g will be hosting a perennial plant exchange on Saturday May 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at Hilgersom Landscapin­g located just east of Evergreen Golf on the highway to Coutts. Bring a plant(s) and then take some away. Plants can be taken for a donation if you do not have one to bring. Open to the public.

• Coyote Flats Pioneer Village Jam Session Saturday May 11 at 7 p.m. in Kleeman Hall at Coyote Flats Pioneer Village just outside Picture Butte. Come on out and kick up your heels!

• Gino: A Child of War is an inspiring docu-drama about Canadian soldiers who discover and care for a five-year-old orphan boy in Second World War Italy. Presented by the Lethbridge United Services Institute on May 5 at the Movie Mill at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the Lethbridge Legion Bar or by calling Glenn Miller at 403-360-6076. A Q&A with the director and producer will follow the screening.
