ALERT investigations lead to large busts in S. Alberta
More than $55,000 in drugs and 11 firearms were seized following two ALERT investigations last week where homes in Lethbridge, Coaldale and Fort MacLeod were searched.
On March 15, ALERT seized $30,000 in drugs and seven firearms after searching homes in North Lethbridge and Coaldale. Six rifles, a handgun, 205 grams of cocaine, 59 grams of methamphetamine; 31 grams of marijuana and 14 illicit prescription pills were seized.
Three people were charged, including 36-year-old Michael Monahan of Lethbridge with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and flight from police. Jordan Wensmann, 26, of Coaldale was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and driving while suspended. Jamie Delafosse, 41, of Lethbridge is charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
In another unrelated investigation, more than $25,000 in drugs and four firearms were seized March 17 at a home in Fort Macleod. This includes three rifles, a shotgun, 222 grams of cocaine, three grams of heroin, 22 grams of meth and nine grams of marijuana.
Dean Jordan, 47, of Fort Macleod was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of careless storage of a firearm, four counts of knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm, and possessing property obtained by crime.
Elaine Reid, 39, of Fort MacLeod was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of careless storage of a firearm, four counts of knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm and possession of property obtained by crime.
