Daffodil Project hosting June 6 meeting

-

The public is welcome to attend The Daffodil Project’s committee meeting on June 6 from 11 a.m. to noon in the parks and recreation boardroom. This building is next to Kin Coulee Park.

Items on the agenda include the nearly $977 raised at the daffodil drive on May 12, the number of bulbs to be purchased this year, planting sites and dates for planting this Sept/Oct.

The Daffodil Project is close to having enough funds to the purchase and plant 25,000 bulbs this fall with generous support from businesses and the public.

The project depends on donations for purchasing bulbs, and every cent donated is used for bulbs. A donation of $150 buys about 700 bulbs.

The Daffodil Project has a goal of seeing a million bulbs planted by 2025 along the Trans-Canada Highway from Redcliff to Dunmore, about 10 kilometres. The purpose is simply to beautify the environment each spring.

Donations for bulbs can be made through the project's trust account at ATB Financial, account number 0732900410789600. Email a copy of your bank deposit slip for acknowledgment of the donation and your name recorded on the website. A donation can also be made in memory of a loved one.
