Drai­saitl, McDavid com­bine for seven points in win over Wild

ED­MON­TON Leon Drai­saitl scored twice and added an as­sist and Con­nor McDavid had a goal and three as­sists as the Ed­mon­ton Oil­ers won their sec­ond game in a row with a 7-2 vic­tory over the Min­nesota Wild on Fri­day.

Ryan Nu­gent-Hop­kins, Zack Kas­sian, Alex Chiasson and Dar­nell Nurse also scored for the Oil­ers (15-122), who have won five of their last six games.

Mar­cus Foligno and Nino Nieder­re­iter replied for the Wild (15-12-2), who have lost five of their last six.

Cam Tal­bot made 31 saves to pickup back-to-back vic­to­ries af­ter drop­ping his six pre­vi­ous starts. The Oil­ers chased De­van Dub­nyk af­ter three goals on six shots. Alex Stalock made 22 saves in re­lief.


DAL­LAS — Miro Heiska­nen and Brett Ritchie scored in the third pe­riod, and the Dal­las Stars beat the San Jose Sharks for their fourth con­sec­u­tive vic­tory.

The game was tied at 1 be­fore Heiska­nen scored from the top of the right face­off cir­cle 4:38 into the third. Ritchie then got his sec­ond of the sea­son at 6:26, mak­ing it 3-1 Dal­las.

The Stars also got a solid per­for­mance from Ben Bishop, who made a sea­son­high 41 saves.

Evan­der Kane and Lo­gan Cou­ture scored for San Jose, which was com­ing off con­sec­u­tive wins against Mon­treal and Carolina. Erik Karls­son had two as­sists, and Martin Jones stopped 27 shots.


WIN­NIPEG — Jake Allen made 26 saves to record his first shutout in a year as the St. Louis Blues de­feated the Win­nipeg Jets 1-0 on Fri­day.

Alex Steen scored for the Blues (10-13-4) dur­ing a sec­ond-pe­riod power play. The Jets only had six shots on goal in the third pe­riod.

Allen’s last shutout was a 30 vic­tory over Dal­las on Dec. 7, 2017. He’s 8-7-4 in 21 games this sea­son.

Con­nor Helle­buyck made 25 saves for Jets (17-9-2), who had a sea­son-long four-game win­ning streak end.

Win­nipeg was last shut out in their fourth game of the sea­son, a 3-0 loss In Nashville on Oct. 11.

The Jets, who were start­ing a four-game home­s­tand, out­shot the Blues 13-9 in the score­less first pe­riod.
