It’s the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup!
Chris Beck digs out and disposes of Canada Thistle as part of a volunteer sweep at the Connaught irrigation pond on Wednesday in Medicine Hat. The reclamation intern with the Southeast Alberta Watershed Alliance was one of three dozen SEAWA members to take part in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup event that targeted litter and invasive weeds. The annual effort to protect water bodies took place throughout September. On Wednesday, the locally-based Grasslands Naturalists attended Strathcona Island Park and earlier in the month targeted riverside areas of the community of Ranchlands.
