Roughriders release Canadian defensive lineman Evans

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released Canadian defensive lineman Zack Evans.

The Regina native and twotime Grey Cup champion has played in eight CFL seasons with the Roughriders and Ottawa Redblacks.

Evans signed with the Roughriders in 2012 as a territorial junior after playing with the Regina Thunder junior football club.

He played 16 games over his first two seasons and helped the Riders win the 2013 Grey Cup.
