Wanner’s comments ‘truly profound’

-

Dear editor,

A particular letter to the editor (written by Bob Wanner and published in the News on Dec. 19) I found truly profound; as in knowledgeable, wise, truthful — a point of view expressed in a most remarkable and readable way. Hitting hard, but still in a manner one finds so rare today.

I’ve wondered myself exactly why would Mr. Kenney insist on speaking such nonsense, using phrases like ‘Alberta bashing’, etc.. I’ve come to the conclusion that he uses such words and phrases because he must somehow be convinced that’s what his ‘constituency,’ his and his party’s supporters like to hear, believe themselves.

We all know that Mr. Kenney is far more knowledgeable, experienced, politically ‘sharp’ and yes, he proved that to be so in his tenure in federal government.

What he ‘spouts’ now too often somehow reminds me of Mr. Trump and his belief that’s what his supporters like to hear and has found, until just recently, that it was a very successful ‘policy’ — for a while anyways.

Am looking forward to hearing more from Mr. Bob Wanner.
