On-demand transit service MHTnow expands to include hospital area

-

Medicine Hat Transit’s ondemand bus service has expanded to include the area of Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.

MHTnow’s pilot project will begin operating on route 21 Thursday, running weekday evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.

“This route now falls within the MHTnow Central

Zone, which is already providing service to the River Flats and South Hill neighbourhoods,” transit manager Mike Spicer said in a release from the City of Medicine Hat. “After an assessment of those routes, we feel confident that MHTnow will meet the needs of riders traveling to and from the hospital.”

MHTnow began operating in the city’s Northeast and Northwest neighbourhoods in September and expanded in November to include the River Flats and South Hill.

Riders are encouraged to download the MHTnow app, which allows users to see the location and estimated arrival time of their bus, and can provide mobile notifications before the arrival of a bus.
