Kenney’s approval rating speaks for itself

Dear editor,

While Ian Parkinson desperately tries to defend this phony Conservative, Liberal turned Reformer in Jason Kenney (in a Dec. 26 letter), the comments we are hearing and the polls prove him dead wrong. More and more Albertans are admitting that they made a huge mistake in electing him.

A poll conducted at the federal level gave him the second lowest approval rating in Canada of all premiers and one conducted by the News paints likely a more realistic picture of only a 19 per cent approval rating with Notley’s at 67.

It was former MLAs from the Lougheed era who taught me members of the Reform Party can’t be trusted. Looking after their own wellbeing and that of their rich friends while spreading lies is what they do best, and they don’t care who gets hurt in the process. That’s exactly what Kenney has been doing.

The Reformers’ track record at elections also proves what these

Conservative MLAs stated. Reformers Stephen

Harper, Preston Manning, Brian Jean, Danielle Smith, Jim Prentice and Andrew Scheer were all losers at election time, and Kenney will likely be next. Add in the Reformers from the Klein government, Stelmach government and Redford governments and none of them have been smart enough to suggest the obvious solution to our financial problem, like Notley did. Follow what Lougheed was doing by collecting proper oil royalties, taxes and health care premiums and run this province properly like Lougheed did and Norway and Alaska are doing.

This lie that we don’t have a revenue problem, only a spending problem while he slashes taxes to benefit his rich friends and then promises to cut 11,000 health care jobs to make up for this revenue cutting stupidity shows how ignorant this guy is and doesn’t care who gets hurt.
