What’s Available NOW On CRAVE
“I Am Jackie O”
The latest entry in the “I Am” documentary series from producer Derik Murray looks at the evolution of the former U.S. first lady, from society debutante, political wife and young mother to widow and survivor of a national tragedy. Through it all, she became one of the most important American cultural icons of the 20th century.
“Movie: The High Note”
A good cast elevates Nisha Ganatra’s somewhat familiar 2020 comedy-drama about a longtime personal assistant (Dakota Johnson) to a veteran R&B singer (Tracee Ellis Ross) who yearns for a career of her own as a music producer. Kelvin Harrison Jr. (“Godfather of Harlem”) costars as an aspiring young musician who catches her attention. Johnson’s mom, Melanie Griffith, has a cameo.
“Movie: The King of Staten Island”
“Saturday Night Live” cast member Pete Davidson, who lost his firefighter father during the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York, received critical praise for his performance in this 2020 semi-biographical comedy-drama from executive producer Judd Apatow, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Davidson. The actor stars as a 24-year-old high-school dropout who lives with his mother (Marisa Tomei) on Staten Island. Bill Burr and Bel Powley co-star.
“Movie: Monkey Beach”
Based on the novel by Edith Robinson and directed by Loretta Todd (“Hands of History,” “The Learning Path”), this 2020 mystery stars Grace Dove (“The Revenant”) as a young Indigenous woman who reflects on her life when she returns to her hometown and awaits news about her missing-at-sea brother. Nathaniel Arcand (“FBI: Most Wanted”), Adam Beach (“Arctic Air”) and Joel Oulette (“Trickster”) also star.
