Tickled Pink

Greg Perry is the best cartoonist ever. I look forward to his contribution every day.

Ticked Off

I get that some businesses want to be open making fistfuls of money and pretending that they care about their customers. Before you go out and protest think about the people on ventilators trying to breathe or those that die each and every day.

Ticked Off

Way too many cops in town with nothing to do but create income with photo radar. With all the massive unemployment and mental health issues in our town, not only do they cause stress for families but they also take food off tables with their cash cow.

Ticked Off

Whoever controls the LED sign at the Norwood Professional Centre needs to tone it down. It’s so darn bright I’m sure they can see it from space.

Tickled Pink

I was at the hospital (last) Monday morning and I want to thank the gentleman who paid for my parking. It was a very kind and unexpected gesture. Thank you so much. God bless.

Ticked Off

So shocking to find out two of our local politicians have accounts on a platform that incites hate, racism and the list goes on — not! They should be removed from their positions. They have shown their true colours before. Vote them out!

Tickled Pink

Donald Trump is the most masculine United States president ever! He’s so tough he can kill two rocks with one bird! (Apologies to Chuck Norris).

Ticked Off

Interesting how that much publicized $12 million solar panel project quietly died and was hauled away using the $600,000 parking lot as the staging area. Now all we hear is crickets. Another white elephant to add to the City Hall herd.

Ticked Off

At anyone who defends the residential school system. Children were taken away from their families, lost their languages, while these so called “well-intentioned” teachers replaced historical knowledge with European learning. The sense of superiority is sickening.

Ticked Off

That our Conservative MLAs told us how they had learned from their loss six years ago. They told us they were no longer arrogant or have feelings of entitlement and they had learned their lesson and understood our disenchantment with their actions. I’m tired of being used, abused and taken for granted by all of you. I am no longer a Conservative.

Ticked Off

So the 100-plus year old power plant might be sold after generating tens of millions for the city. I hope council knows what they are doing.

Ticked Off

Ticked off that family doctors decide they can’t deliver babies? The maternity clinic is an added expense when family doctors have always delivered babies before. Why is this so hard to understand?

Ticked Off

Only political philosophy could turn a Medicine Hat ‘advantage’ into an albatross. Medicine Hat’s ownership of its utilities has stabilized the city’s mill rate to even a small amount consistently. It has been viewed as a marketing advantage over other municipalities forever. A one-time cash injection, eventually squandered, from the sale of this asset will not equal the annual profit in perpetuity.

Ticked Off

Trucks with very loud exhaust systems should be outlawed. I get woken up every morning by some diesel truck down the block idling in their driveway for 30 minutes.

Ticked Off

Our mayor and council should remind themselves, they are here as stewards to represent all residents of our city. They are here to protect, not sell public assets which still continue to provide benefit to Medicine Hat taxpayers and utility customers. If their personal politics favour privatization rather than public protection, run for a position on the Chamber of Commerce rather than city council. Be transparent, we have an election this fall.

Tickled Pink

I was tickled pink with all of the lights everyone put up this Christmas. Whether you put up a little or a lot, it was much appreciated to help brighten up the season and provide a safe activity of an evening drive. As for the city’s lights, I think they are beautiful! Thanks to all.
