Hatters are smart enough to be brought ‘up to speed’ on possible sale of power plant

Well no wonder it snowed (last week), our illustrious mayor and city council finally came out and admitted the residents of Medicine Hat are too stupid to understand why their shenanigans in selling the power plant is in our best interest. Where I come from, ‘too onerous to bring “up to speed”’ is politically correct double speak for, run along and play, Sonny, leave this to the adults.

I remember in the mid 90s Ralph Klein deregulated electric power using the same story and our bills doubled. Sure, sell our paid-for power plant, balance the 2020/21 books and watch the peasants pay through the nose for electricity generated by huge anonymous generators, hungry to sell power to the states. Next time you drive Highway 1 ask yourself where that massive new power line is taking our electricity. Oh wait a minute, is this not the same mayor and council that blew millions of our dollars on that white elephant water heater above the power plant? We should get the municipal works department to run the city, they know how to write a contract and get the job done properly.
