Cancarb parent company secured status in EU Green Deal research

Cancarb’s parent company Tokai Carbon has secured status under a European Union Green Deal research initiative.

Last summer the Tokyobased industrial materials manufacturer, which produces rubber additives in Medicine Hat, acquired France-based graphite producer Carbone Savoie.

On Tuesday the company announced it will now direct research and development capacity in that country toward new battery anode technology. They will be one of 42 firms in the EU designated under specific cluster development regarding low-carbon power systems. The project area falls under an “Important project of Common European Interest” under EU policy.
