Hatter charged in relation to storage unit B&Es in Brooks

A Medicine Hat man has been charged with breaking into storage lockers in Brooks, the RCMP detachment in that city announced Monday.

In late January, mounties were called to investigat­e a break-in to seven units at a local storage complex, and then on Feb. 4 executed a search warrant at a residence on Wild Rose Court W.

Police say they recovered hand and power tools, electronic­s, plus hunting and firearms accessorie­s, leading to charges of possessing and traffickin­g stolen property, as well as breaches of release conditions,

Samuel Whitford, 31, was scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat provincial court on Monday.
