A vehicle crashed into a private home on Taylor Road on Monday night.

A 9 p.m. 911 call came to police from a resident in the 700 block, who reported that a vehicle had just crashed into their house. The female driver had fled the scene on foot.

Medicine Hat Police Service contained the area and a K9 unit was called to assist in locating the driver. Police were then notified by another area resident that a female was found hiding in their garage.

Damage to the vehicle and residence is estimated to be more than $50,000. There were no serious injuries sustained as a result of the collision.
