Saskatchewan looking for emergency staff to help personal care homes with COVID-19
The Saskatchewan government is looking to hire emergency staff to help personal care homes deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
A notice on its procurement website asks for interested suppliers to apply.
The government says personal care homes in the province have encountered staffing issues because of the novel coronavirus.
The Ministry of Health says it wants to hire an emergency response staffing team of personal care aides to avoid having to transfer residents out of these homes.
It says the aides should been able to provide hands on care as well as nursing services.
The ministry reports there are 252 privately owned care homes in the province, with most of them in Regina and Saskatoon.
