Wacey Hamilton calls it a career

-

Former Medicine Hat Tigers captain Wacey Hamilton has decided to call it a career.

The Utica Comets thanked Hamilton for his dedication to the AHL squad over six seasons in the city — including the past four as an alternate captain.

“Thank you Wacey Hamilton for everything you brought to Utica over the past six years,” the Comets said on Twitter. “Congratulations on a great career and happy retirement! Good luck in your next journey.”

The Cochrane-born centre spent four seasons with Medicine Hat, donning the captain’s “C” in his final year, 2010-11. He closed out his 234-game run as a Tiger with 61 goals and 132 assists.

Hamilton began his AHL career with a threeyear stint as a Binnington Senator before joining Utica. He finished his 432-game AHL career with 44 goals and 88 assists.
