Baumann’s Ventilation & Plumbing was voted the best of Medicine Hat this year and it is an accolade the business has enjoyed several times before.
Clay Baumann, one of the owners together with his brother Raymond Baumann, says he was very happy to receive the news and “was quite proud of the guys.”
“They (employees) do a good job for us and they sell us well,” said Baumann.
A big part of success of the business is due to a reliable team of employees who care about what they do, the product and the customer, he explained.
There is a mixture of long-term employees and some who have joined more recently but quickly became part of the team.
“The older ones train the younger guys to have the attitude they need and work ethic and the quality work they put out,” said Baumann.
The nature of the work for residential and commercial heating, air conditioning and plumbing services, means it is of necessity a business that is available 24/7.
Baumann says the few weeks of very cold temperatures in the winter triggered many calls for emergency repairs or servicing.
“As soon as it gets cold and the equipment is working harder, that’s when it breaks,” said Baumann.
The company is kept busy whether it is maintenance servicing to keep equipment running smoothly and efficiently all year or responding to emergency repairs.
