Tickled Pink

Albertans trusting politicians and bureaucrats in Ottawa with our retirement pension plan (CPP) is like trusting a bunch of kleptomaniacs to look after our house while we’re out of town. An Alberta Pension Plan isn’t just a good idea, it’s necessary to protect Albertan seniors.

Tickled Pink

You’ve got to love paranoid people that believe every post on Facebook or in this column is about them. You know who you are, and so does everyone else because we’re all watching you.

Ticked Off

I wish that our Liberal government, Conservative, NDP and Bloc Québécois opposition parties would stop talking about how the grocery stores are still raising their prices and actually do something. While they all give heartfelt speeches in front of the cameras, the prices keep rising.

Tickled Pink Congratulation, Redcliff. The court has spoken. Maybe now the lies will stop.

Ticked Off

The Medicine Hat Advantage appears to be waning so a new logo and jingle is needed. How about, Medicine Hat, City of Opportunity For All.

Tickled Pink

Mayor Linnsie Clark stands up for the people in the area not just the Hat. She is honest, trustworthy, hardworking . Thank you, Linnsie.

Ticked Off

Our minor hockey league needs a shake-up. Last game my grandson got two 1-minute shifts. Coach’s kid would have got half the period if he hadn’t got six minutes in penalties. All kids pay the same fees to play, only a terrible coach would run the team like this. Very disappointed.

Tickled Pink

That the young thug that is throwing snowballs at cars and houses in Redcliff runs like Forest Gump! LOL, enjoy your new nickname, and no Bubba Shrimp please!

Just love the cartoonist children in “The Family Circus.” They are just so darn cute and I just could take them home with me.

Ticked Off

That we don’t get to see the awesome Super Bowl commercials cause Canadian censoring! (Editor’s note: Go on your computer and type ‘YouTube’. Hours upon hours of overpaid actors selling underwhelming products at your fingertips.)

Tickled Pink

That the News has good weekend coverage online Monday morning even though there is no printed News on Mondays. Thanks from a long time subscriber!

Tickled Pink

That Sunday was the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with the goal to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science and research. How about a Day for Women in the Skilled Trades? It’s slowly improving, but recently statistics show just five per cent of Canadian tradespeople are women, and Canada needs more tradespersons.

Ticked Off

Why don’t we get any provincial hockey tournaments here? Other centres seem to get two or more every year, and nothing comes to Medicine Hat. Do we not apply for any, or do they believe we are not capable of hosting one? Why doesn’t MHMH tell us why nothing comes here?

Ticked Off

Trudeau and the Liberals involved in yet another massive scandal. Tell me they aren’t money laundering without telling me they aren’t money laundering. (Editor’s note: Tell us you watch TikTok without telling us you watch TikTok.)

Tickled Pink

If we are all covered by government dental plan and that our private plans will no longer need to be necessary. Next step, set dental fees that the dentists MUST only charge. Stop them from tacking on extra fees when they know you have insurance. Some dentists are honest and don’t do that, but there are some that do. We are paying high fees out of pocket, sometimes more than what our insurance pays. This needs to stop!

Tickled Pink

That the Veiner Centre is becoming such an activity hub for seniors. The Mardi Gras dance was loads of fun with a full dance floor. Obviously, our seniors are dance-starved! During the day, it is very busy with all sorts of games and activities. Free movies and popcorn. Lessons of all sorts. Keep up the good work!

Ticked Off

Governments have deemed that minors are not responsible enough to drink alcohol, smoke tobacco or related products, legally register a firearm, independently operate a 4 wheeled motor vehicle, or join the military, but now certain individuals feel a government has no authority to put age restrictions on certain irreversible medical procedures. A procedure delayed is not a procedure denied!

Ticked Off

How will the city handle a drought? Simply put, they won’t and can’t. They will receive a grant, sit in their office to make up stupid boards no one can understand, hold an open meeting, have you write down your opinion and ignore it. Then they will cut down more trees, make more trails and call it a win. No trees, no wildlife — no worries about a drought. That’s the only way the city thinks.

Ticked Off

At Sarah Hoffman who says we need to have rent controls in place. People have no idea the costs associated with owning a rental property. Insurance and taxes are sky high, upkeep costs are soaring as well. It’s hard to break even these days.

Tickled Pink

That it’s Random Acts of Kindness Week from February 12-17. There are so many reasons to be kind!

Tickled Pink

Happy Valentine to our fantastic Mayor Linnsie Clark! So happy she’s in office standing up for the people of Medicine Hat.

Tickled Pink

We hear much about the huge aquifer running under our city. Seemingly all we have to do is tap into that and at least all our city’s water problems are moot.

Tickled Pink

First Nations are opposed to development of town sites near Canmore, which would interfere with their traditional culture of hunting, fishing, camping and gathering but are not opposed to developing open coal mining in the Rockies for economic benefits. Coal mining waste and coal dust are poisoning our precious rivers and lakes, which will interfere with their traditional culture of hunting, fishing, camping and gathering. It will be interesting to see if the environment or money will win.
