U13AA Hounds sweep their weekend slate

The Medicine Hat U13AA Hounds were in their winnings ways this weekend.

The Hounds won both of their games over the weekend, beating the Central Alberta Selects 7-3 on Saturday and topping the Bow Valley Timberwolv­es 7-3 on Sunday.

Three Hounds had three points in Saturday’s win, with Lincoln Bensler tallying two goals and an assist and both of Kovann Chisholm and Carter Jarvis notching a goal with two assists.

Nash Davis and Macen Ibach had a goal and an assist each and Cooper Danroth had a solo marker, Colson Neigum made 15 saves.

Danroth led the way in Sunday’s win with two goals and an assist. Jarvis tallied a goal with two assists and all four of Brody Eresman, Chisholm, Davis and Lincoln Steinkey had a goal and an assist. Hunter Munro made 27 saves.

The U13AA Hounds (20-8-3) have two games this weekend, hosting the Timberwolv­es for a rematch on Friday at the Kinplex.

U15

The U15AAA SEAC Tigers had two home games this weekend against the Airdrie Xtreme, dropping both contests.

They lost 5-4 on Saturday and 7-2 on Sunday.

Ethan Grad had two goals and an assist in Saturday’s loss, Liam Green had a goal with an assist and Illya Khazov tallied a solo marker. Paxton Smigelski made 39 saves.

Carson Ward and Khazov each had a goal and an assist in Sunday’s loss and Smigelski and Sasha Shushkov combine for 49 saves.

The U15AAA Tigers (8-19-21) have two road games this weekend.

The U15AA SEAC Tigers went undefeated this weekend, with a 2-2 tie Friday against the Wheatland Warriors and a 5-4 win Saturday over the Central Alberta Selects.

Gavin Perry and affiliated player Jude Martin each scored in Friday’s draw and Jake

Druar made 32 saves.

In Saturday’s win, Cooper Craven, Jaxon Martin and Dane Friedt each had a goal and an assist. Zander Kitching and Kian Lang each scored a goal and Conner Aldag made 40 saves.

The U15AA Tigers (15-13-4) have two games this weekend, hosting the Golden Suns on Sunday.

U16

The U16AA Hounds had two games of the weekend, dropping both contests.

They lost 6-3 to the Red Deer TBS on Friday, with Mavric Ward notching two goals and Jaxon Bohrn also scoring. Ethan Hall had two assists. Grady Brost made 43 saves.

The Hounds lost 8-1 to the CBHA Hawks on Saturday, with Jaxon Benci scoring the lone goal and Kayden Van

Ham made 49 saves.

The U16AA Hounds (5-23-2) have two home games this weekend, hosting the Wheatland Raiders on

Saturday and the CNHA Northstars on Sunday.

U17

The U17AAA SEAC Tigers had only one game this weekend, a 7-1 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Karter Kurbjuweit had a goal and two assist, Colby Gulliver and Parker Kienzle each tallied a goal and an assist. All four of Colby Motz,

Randen Collier, Elijah Fleck and Carter Allan each scored a goal. Kayne Wright started the game with 23 saves and Sasha Shushkov made a save in 4:01 of action.

The U17AAA Tigers (16-111) have two road games this weekend.

U18

Medicine Hat’s U18AA Hounds split their weekend slate, with a 6-1 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday and a 3-1 loss Saturday to the Bow Valley Timberwolv­es.

Greyson Girletz and Jaxon Scrivener each had two goals and an assist in Friday’s win. Grady Hudec and Nolan Sutherland each had a goal and Adam Ranger made 26 saves.

In Saturday’s loss, Hudec scored the Hounds’ lone goal and Parker McLaughlin made 37 saves.

The U18AA Hounds (9-16-5) have two home games this weekend, hosting the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday and the Golden Suns on Sunday.
