U17AAA SEAC Tigers take care of business

The Medicine Hat U17AAA SEAC Tigers played to win this weekend on the road.

The Tigers won both of their games, with a 5-1 win Saturday over the Sherwood Park Squires and an 8-4 victory Sunday over the MLAC Beverly Optimist Leafs.

Tate Bowal, Randen Collier and Elijah Fleck each had a goal and an assist in Saturday’s win and both Colby Motz and Eastin Kurpjuweit added solo markers. Kolter Gans made 18 saves in the win.

Colby Gulliver led the way Sunday with a goal and four assists. Fleck had two goals, Kade Dickie and Parker

Kienzle had a goal and an assist each, and Bowal, Collier and Kurpjuweit all found the back of the net. Kayne Wright made 20 saves for the victory.

The U17AAA SEAC Tigers (19-12-1) have two road games this weekend.

U18

The U18AA Hounds (11-175) had two games this weekend.

They lost 7-3 Saturday to the Okotoks Oilers and faced the Wheatland Chiefs on Sunday. Sunday’s results and statistics from Saturday’s contest were not posted by game time.

U16

The U16AA Hounds (5-29-2) lost both games to open March, falling 4-1 Friday to the Red Deer TBS and suffering an 8-4 loss Saturday to the Wheatland Raiders.

Mavric Ward scored in Friday’s loss and Grady Brost made 34 saves.

Brody Dick had a goal and an assist Saturday and each of Ashton Tumback, Jaxon Benci and Jaxon Bohrn scored in Saturday’s loss. Kayden Van Ham made 38 saves.

U15

The U15AAA SEAC Tigers season came to a close with a pair of wins.

The Tigers beat the Okotoks Oilers 4-3 on Friday and topped the Calgary Bisons 5-2 Saturday.

Liam Green scored twice in Friday’s victory, Vann Boiteau had a goal and an assist and Rhyder Arnold found twine.

Paxton Smigelski made 35 saves.

Illya Khazov scored twice Saturday, Carson Ward tallied a goal and an assist and both Carter Gilchrist and Arnold scored. Sasha Shushkov made 38 saves.

The U15AAA SEAC Tigers (11-20-2-1) fell outside the AEHL playoffs.

Medicine Hat’s U15AA Tigers (16-13-5) wrapped up their season with a trio of games.

They played twice Friday, with a 5-1 win over the East Kootenay Avalanche and a 5-5 tie with the Golden Suns. They lost 5-2 Saturday to the Wheatland Warriors.

Cole Siewert, Jude Martin, Gavin Perry, Zander Kitching and Chase Murphy each scored in Friday’s win, and both Kian Lang and Dane Friedt had two helpers. Jake Druar made 36 saves.

In the draw with the Suns, Alexzander Schabler had two goals and an assist and all three of Martin, Kitching and Friedt found twine. Conner Aldag made 27 saves.

In the Tigers final game, Martin and Friedt each scored and Druar and Aldag split duties in net with a combined 36 saves.

U13

The U13AA Hounds played one game this weekend, a 5-3 loss Friday to the Wheatland Braves.

Lincoln Steinkey, Macen Ibach and Carter Jarvis each scored and Nash Davis had two helpers. Hunter Munro made 31 saves.

The U13 Hounds (22-9-3) have three games this weekend.
