A Buyer’s Choice... the choice of many

-

Val and Steve Fraser got into the home inspection business just before uncertainty befell the industry in 2020.

Ever since they’ve worked to take the uncertainty out of real estate transactions.

“We thought, ‘wow, what’s going to happen?’,” recalls Val Fraser, coowner of A Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections since late 2019 and this year’s top placement among Home Inspection services in the annual reader’s choice poll.

“It was a different protocol (during COVID), but people kept buying houses. and over time we’ve grown.”

“We’ve been fortunate that we have some really great realtors in this city and great people that we work with.”

Both Frasers are certified home inspectors and franchise owners of the local office of the national brand.

Customer service for individual home buyers is a priority for Buyers Choice, said Fraser, who plans to bring on more certified inspectors this year.

“We try to go above and beyond,” she said.

That includes demystifying the many aspects of property upkeep and home repairs.

While reports can weigh in at 300 pages or more including complete set of pictures, the staff often provides follow-up visits and explanations.

“We’re very diligent to do walk throughs with clients, even six months or a year afterwards,” explains Fraser.

“That extends for the life span of however long you own the home.”

The couple, along with inspector Justin Hashem, routinely serve clients in Medicine Hat, Redcliff and Brooks, as well as areas of southeast Alberta from Burdett to Oyen to Foremost to Jenner.
