If mayor sued the council members plus city manager. If the city manager did not follow bylaws she is required to follow, she should be reprimanded as well.

Ticked Off

If I was looking at moving to Medicine Hat to start a business, I would be reconsidering it as I wouldn’t trust this council. Having acting mayors doesn’t put any business trust in this city council.

Tickled Pink

With Mayor Clark. The council and city manager disrespected her with these outlandish sanctions, yet she continued to let her professionalism show and judged the science fair even after this horrendous attack. Congratulations to you, Mayor Clark, on being an excellent example of what our city wants.

Ticked Off

That Ann Mitchell admitted to breaking a bylaw, which was not just a minor one, and yet none of these massive repercussions were even considered for her. I think that was

grounds for firing. Council, any reason you did nothing against Mitchell, yet Mayor Clark asked for transparency and you are trying to take away her voice? Council, you are starting to look suspicious, shady — won’t be getting my vote come the next election.

Ticked Off

That our mayor only has 1 vote. Coun. McGrogan arrogantly pointed out in an interview (while being acting mayor) that they will continue on, as Mayor Clark is just one vote. How can the councillors who got way fewer votes than our mayor have the same power as her? Can we move to sanction our councillors so they can’t vote and only our mayor does?

Ticked Off

Watched YouTube video about the council session Aug. 21, 2023. At 1:52:00 Mayor Clark was clearly bullied by council colleagues, specifically Sharp. The city manager admitted being at fault in the process yet the mayor is reprimanded? Our council is incompetent and must be voted out next election. Such a shame that an honest Mayor gets into trouble for speaking up for the citizens of Medicine Hat.

Tickled Pink

At the citizens of Medicine Hat. The Mayor has fought for transparency, integrity and accountability. It’s time we fight for her. Thanks to all those who have already started.

Ticked Off

At being in the dark on these council issues. Councillors, we didn’t like what the previous council and mayor were doing. Everything behind closed doors is what we voted out. If you can’t approve it in front of the public, maybe it isn’t what the public wants and therefore you should not want it either.

Ticked Off

Turns out the sanctions on the mayor are solely based on the interaction we all saw on video. Read the following in the News: “That was presided over by the deputy mayor, Coun. Allison Knodel, who said the incident is the focus of the report, and the penalties relate to the exchange and not any other aspect of council’s working relationship with Clark.” Outrageous!

Ticked Off

Well done councillors, you are showing the business world how terrible you are and that it’s a bad idea to invest here in Medicine Hat.
