Colts Sr. boys baseball record shutout in lone mid-week contest

The Monsignor McCoy Colts senior boys baseball team held their opponent off the scoreboard Thursday.

The Colts beat the Chinook Coyotes 13-0, with Fischer Haysom earning the win with four shutout innings, allowing only three hits with a walk while striking out seven batters.

Jack Jackett retired all three batters he faced to close out the contest.

Mace Carriere, JJ Harnett and Cole Carlson had two hits each and Haysom scored three runs to lead the Colts’ offensive attack. Makhi Carriere chipped in with a hit, a run scored and two RBIs.

The McCoy Varsity Colts now have a record of 2-0 in APBL play. Next action for the Colts is Wednesday when they host Raymond at 3 p.m. and LCI at 6 p.m., both at Jeffries Field.

Those two games are also Seniors Red Gamea, where the Colts will recognize Makhi Carriere, Mace Carriere and Fischer Haysom as graduating players. Fans are encouraged to wear red and there will be prizes awarded to the two best dressed fans displaying their school spirit.

JV Colts

The Colts JV team had one contest Thursday, falling 9-5 to the Brooks Buffalos.

James Cole, Ethan Grad, Kylan Mailhiot and Reed Hall shared the mound duties for McCoy.

The McCoy JV offence was led by Tegin Stienley with two hits and Liam Cunningham scored two runs and Kylan Mailhiot had a pair of RBI. Hall and Aaron Recio each chipped in with a hit and a run scored.

The JV Colts have a 6-5 record on the season, their next action is Tuesday when they travel to Vauxhall for a doublehead­er with the undefeated Vikings. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
