The mother of all pranks in midtown
A couple of pranksters (or possibly a lone wolf?) pulled off an elaborate hoax in Leaside last month by somehow suspending a vehicle from the Millwood Bridge. The stunt left many dumbfounded as to how the car got there and prompted a major emergency services response. Police, firefighters and paramedics all showed up on the scene to find the car gutted, with no engine or passengers inside. The mystery act of mischief wasn’t exactly legal, and safety was a top concern as the car dangled above the Don River and a popular hiking trail. The Toronto Police Service is still investigating. In the meantime, many of us are left wondering: who was responsible? A rogue engineer from the University of Toronto? Or music video misfits? Whoever it was, you have to admire their ingenuity.
