More Turcot lanes to close

- THE GAZETTE

Transport Quebec has announced more long-term lane closures on the crumbling Turcot Interchange.

On Thursday, the department announced that roadwork will compel it to close:

One of the two lanes of the ramp that links the southbound Décarie Expressway to the eastbound Ville Marie Expressway, starting May 3. The lane is expected to reopen in October.

Both lanes of the ramp linking northbound Highway 15 to eastbound Ville Marie Express- way, starting May 5. The lanes are expected to reopen in mid-july. As a detour, Transport Quebec suggests motorists reach downtown via the Bonaventure Expressway.

In addition, Transport Quebec said on Monday it will begin work on Highway 15 between the Lachine Canal and the Aqueduct Canal. The repairs will continue until December.

Due to this work, there will be occasional closures of Highway 15 lanes and roads that run under the highway. The department said it will inform motorists about those closures before they happen.
