Students at the Université de Montréal’s history and comparative literature departments, however, voted to continue their boycotts. That brings to 10 the number of university associations who decided to continue their boycotts, numbering 10,000 students, according to student federation CLASSE.

The only two who voted to maintain their boycotts — Vieux Montréal and St. Laurent — did so by a slim margin, and have since organized new votes, to be held Friday.

At Bois de Boulogne, the vote was 493-64 for a return to class, with 23 abstentions. Students at Rosemont voted to return by a margin of roughly 70 per cent, but also voted to boycott classes on the 22nd of each month until the government agrees to cancel tuition increases.

At Ahuntsic, students voted to return to class. And they also voted for a one-day strike on Aug. 22, when a mass protest is planned.

Students at Lionel Groulx, Montmorency and St. Jérôme returned to class Thursday. No incidents were reported.
