LE PIEMONTAIS RESTAURANT TO SHUT

Remo Pompeo said Friday he is closing down his famous Le Piemontais restaurant at René Lévesque Blvd. and De Bullion St. in Montreal, after 35 years of operation. Le Piemontais has always been known for serving traditional-style Italian dishes at modest prices. Pompeo opened the doors of his restaurant in 1977, just after Place Desjardins was completed. “My team has had great pleasure in serving our faithful clientele over the past 35 years,” Pompeo said. “The time has come to hang up my apron and thank all the men and women who have graced our tables.”
