TOM Condos: Affordable luxury living in the heart of downtown Montreal

-

TOM is urban; TOM is chic. TOM is stylish; TOM is fun. TOM (an acronym for Towers of Montreal) is an exciting NYC-inspired 40-storey condominium tower by Les Développements Pandev Inc. to be built at 1188 Union St. in the very heart of downtown Montreal. It is within easy walking distance of Place Ville-Marie, Place des Arts, McGill and Concordia universities, the Bell Centre, the Eaton Centre, Old Montreal, and a wide variety of stores, restaurants and bars.

“TOM is a condominium for people whose lives are centred in downtown Montreal,” said Daniel Revah. He is one of the owners, along with Joe Berger, of Les Développements Pandev Inc. They have another existing highend luxury condominium project (at 215 Redfern Ave. in Westmount) that is already 85 per cent presold and in construction.

“TOM is a home address as upscale and dazzling as downtown itself,” Revah said. “Why waste your time stuck in traffic that is getting more and more congested, when you can walk to work from TOM in a few minutes time?”

The condos will be ideally located and affordable, with prices ranging f rom $199,000 for a 500-square-foot one-bedroom unit to $2.5 million for a 2,800-square-foot penthouse. Whatever the price, all the condos have balconies, allowing owners to enjoy incredible views of the city they love.

Each TOM condo comes with concrete slab floors, sound-insulated and covered with hardwood — or, in the case of bathrooms, with ceramic tile. There are independent double demising walls between each unit for extra sound insulation.

The ceilings are nine feet or higher. Units feature exposed concrete ceilings and columns, with the option to cover them with drywall. Kitchens come with a full suite of stainless-steel appliances, plus a choice of Europeaninspired lacquered, wood-grain or laminated cabinetry with melamine interior, and the choice of granite or quartz countertops.

Wood floors run throughout, except in the bathrooms. Floors there are tiled, as are the walls — from floor to ceiling. The bathrooms are equipped with modern fixtures with clear glass shower enclosures and doors, and a choice of marble, granite, or quartz vanity countertops.

Each condo has its own individually controlled heating and air conditioning, plus a laundry/ mechanical room, 100-amp electrical service, and pre-wiring for telephone and cable.

As for services: condo owners will have access to a modern gym and aerobics studio, a sauna, an outdoor serene terrace wading pool, and a party room with kitchen. There are also landscaped private/common outdoor terraces, an avant-garde lobby and com- mon areas to welcome you home, and three high-speed elevators to whisk you to your personal condo.

When you live at TOM Condos, you have a truly safe home. The building will offer 24-hour uniformed security and concierge service, plus proximity detector/ magnetic card access to the tower’s main entrance and garage.

“All of these features, plus our range of prices and options, makes TOM Condos ideal for so many people,” Revah said. “We are seeing parents buying a condo for their university-aged son or daughter; young professionals; couples; families; and emptynesters. What they all have in common is that they love and live in downtown Montreal — which draws them to TOM.”

The condos are to begin construction shortly, with occupancy due in late 2014 or early 2015. Thirty-five per cent of the project’s condos have already been sold in less than three months — a fact that indicates just how prime TOM’s location is, and how affordable the prices are.
