POLICE SET UP COMMAND POSTS NEAR SEX ASSAULT

-

The Longueuil police department will set up two command posts Saturday night to solicit help from the public concerning a sexual assault last weekend. One police post will be at the corner of Rome and Milan Blvds. in Brossard, the site of the attack, which took place around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 8. The other post will be at the RTL terminal on Panama Ave. near Taschereau Blvd. A young woman stepped off RTL bus No. 41, at the corner of Rome and Milan, and began walking on the bike path. She was approached by a man who appeared to have a handgun. He assaulted her and ran off. Police are seeking a white man in his mid-20s who is 6 feet tall, weighs 169 pounds and has brown hair, and spoke English and French with an accent. It is possible he had access to a beige four-door Toyota Corolla or Nissan Sentra. The command posts will be manned between 5 and 9 p.m. Anyone with information that might help solve this case is asked to show up in person or to call 450-463-7211.
